Art with Graphic Design Honors SPT
This class meets on Tuesdays only for the entire school year.
Course Description
This course will focus on learning the principles of art and implementing them into a variety of graphic art projects throughout the year. We will explore the use of color theory, typography, branding, logo design, layout, & more as we work on many graphics and web page designs. Along with graphic design we will also work on our physical art skills such as sketching, painting, and collage making. Skills and knowledge of material will be assessed through weekly art journals, projects, quizzes and test. No previous graphic design experience is needed.

To be successful in this class you must be prepared with required materials, complete projects on time and try your best at all assignments.
Grades: 9th Grade, 10th Grade, 11th Grade, 12th Grade
Fees: $245 plus $30 materials fee
Course Credit: 0.5 Honors Fine Arts Credit

Required Materials:
- 9 x 12 Sketch book
- Folder with pockets
- Notebook for class notes
- Pencils
- Big pink eraser
- Fine point sharpie
- Computer
- Email address that can be used to create a Canva account and web page.
Semester one:
Visit an art exhibit and write a one page paper on your experience and use of the basic principles of art.
Semester two:
Create a graphic and advertising campaign for a product. This will include an original branding with 5 different ads for different mediums.
