DESCRIPTION:Experience History at this K5-5th grade Greenville field trip to Hagood Mill in Pickens SC. Hagood Mill is a beautifully preserved 1845 water-powered gristmill surrounded by restored cabins\, a blacksmith shop\, and the Petroglyph Center. On this field trip\, your student(s) will rotate between these four educational stations: \nTraditional Native American Games \nHousekeeping Chores of the 1800s \nFarming/Gardening in the 1800s \nNative American Life in the Upcountry \nPlease note that this is not a drop-off field trip. A guardian will need to stay on-site for the field trip.  You will be able to tour the mill\, and there are picnic tables for those who pack a lunch. \nYou must purchase a ticket for each of your K5-5th grade students below to attend this event; younger siblings and parents are free. The theme of this field trip is “Exploring Patterns in Plant and Animal Activities” and the field trip will include: creek exploration\, collecting water and land animals\, use microscope in a lab\, and do a Lake Placid 1 1/2 mile biodiversity hike. \nThis is a DROP OFF field trip only open to GVL 2nd grade students\, we will need three chaperones\, please indicate at sign up if you would like to be a chaperone.
