DESCRIPTION:Experience History at this K5-5th grade Greenville field trip to Hagood Mill in Pickens SC. Hagood Mill is a beautifully preserved 1845 water-powered gristmill surrounded by restored cabins\, a blacksmith shop\, and the Petroglyph Center. On this field trip\, your student(s) will rotate between these four educational stations: \nTraditional Native American Games \nHousekeeping Chores of the 1800s \nFarming/Gardening in the 1800s \nNative American Life in the Upcountry \nPlease note that this is not a drop-off field trip. A guardian will need to stay on-site for the field trip.  You will be able to tour the mill\, and there are picnic tables for those who pack a lunch. \nYou must purchase a ticket for each of your K5-5th grade students below to attend this event; younger siblings and parents are free. DESCRIPTION:The AFTERNOON & MORNING SESSIONS are now FULL.  You can waitlist for the morning session event below.  \n  \n  \n \n\nLet’s Celebrate Christmas with a day of Fun and Festivity! \nWhat: UHC’s annual Elementary Christmas Extravaganza! Students will rotate through Christmas themed stations making special Christmas crafts and playing Christmas themed games. While having fun and being creative\, we will celebrate the true meaning of Christmas\, sing together\, and enjoy a snack.  Wear your most festive Christmas outfit! \nThere will be TWO GVL Elementary Christmas Extravaganza events this year – a morning session and an afternoon session.  Both events will be doing EXACTLY the same crafts and games – Please only sign up for 1 event:  either the morning session or afternoon session\, both are on December 3rd\, 2025.   \nWho: K4 through 5th graders are invited!  *All K4 students must be accompanied by a parent or other adult.  Unfortunately\, parents cannot bring toddlers or mobile infants as this event is not suitable for those ages. \nWhen: Wednesday\, December 3rd\, 2025- \n\nMorning Session:  9:00am – 12:00pm – this is the sign up page for the morning session!\n\nWhere: UHC GVL- Hampton Heights Campus- GYM \nCost: $12.75 per student payable upon sign up below. \n**Important to Remember** \n\nA snack will be provided (goldfish) but if your child has special dietary needs\, please send a snack they can eat.  Bring your student a water bottle labeled with their name!\nPlease park and walk in to the Gym to Drop off/Pick up your students.\nK4 students must have a parent stay for the event.  See note above about baby and toddler siblings.\nSign Up fees are refundable up to Sunday\, November 30th\, 2025.  After that date\, sign up fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.\n\nQuestions? DESCRIPTION:    \nMiddle School Science Day \nGet ready to enjoy hands-on science activities with our UHC GVL teachers! \nWho: Grades 6-8 \nWhen:  Wednesday\, December 3\, 2025\, from 9:10 am to 12:45 pm (This event does NOT include a lunch period) \nWhere: UHC GVL Grace Campus; Check in will be in Main Building\, GYM \nCost: $18.00 per student payable upon sign up. \n\nMrs. Natasha Burman: \n\nOverview:  Students will demonstrate their knowledge of weather\, logic\, precipitation\, food webs and dichotomous keys in an escape room! Students will use their knowledge to crack the codes and unlock the “box” containing the secret information. \nWe will continue our winter weather focus by viewing photographic albums of snowflakes taken by snow crystal photographer and author Kenneth Libbrecht. \nStudents bring: Pencil \n\nMrs. Anna Humphries : Animal and Plant Cell Watercolors \n\nOverview: Combine science and art in this fun lesson that will teach students a variety of watercolor techniques including: wet-on-wet\, rubbing alcohol and salt\, graded wash\, scraping and resisting. Students will choose between sketching an animal or plant cell and use different watercolor techniques to paint it!\n Students bring: Pencil\n\nMrs. Lesley Fox: Roman Roads \n\nOverview: History and science connect in this engineering activity. Class time will begin with a study about the Roman roads and how they worked\, how they were  constructed\, and why they were so sturdy. Students will then have the opportunity to design\, build\, and reflect upon a model Roman road. \n Students bring: Pencil\n\n\n**Important to Remember**\n\nStudents will need to bring their UHC student ID\, water bottle\, pencil\, and a snack.\nDrop off will take place in the regular UHC Grace Church carline.  You may drop off from 8:45-9:05am.\nPick up is at 12:45 via the regular UHC Grace Church Carline.\n\nStudents will check-in that morning in the gym. \nQuestions?
