DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun and educational field trip at The Pavilion! We will tour the facility and learn all about ice rinks\, refrigeration\, and important components of ice skating and hockey. After the tour\, students will have the opportunity to take an ice skating and ice hockey lesson as well as have free time to ice skate. Lunch can be added for an additional fee or you may bring your own lunch. \nStudents may be dropped off for this event\, and we will need 2 chaperones to help supervise. Chaperones do not need to purchase a ticket. \nOther adults who would like to skate may purchase a ticket at the rink for $8.95. Siblings may attend as long as the parent is staying the entire time\, and you need to purchase a student ticket for them. \nCost:\n$12.21 (without lunch)\n$16.54 (includes lunch – 2 slices of pizza\, chips\, and a drink) \nRegistration will end Sunday March 29th and no refunds can be given after that date. DESCRIPTION:Come learn about different eras of our South Carolina history! The focus for this field trip will be on World War II\, and students will be able to handle artifacts from the war! We will have classroom learning time as well as time to walk around and experience the museum. The field trip time is from 10:45-12:45pm. \nCost is $14/adult; $11/student; $10/sibling. Participants will pay at the door. SUMMARY:GVL UHC Parent Training Seminar for IEW Writing Courses 2026
DESCRIPTION:This training seminar is mandatory for parents enrolling students in the following Institute for Excellence in Writing courses at UHC: \n\n3rd Grade IEW\n4th Grade IEW\n5th Grade IEW\nIEW 1\, 6th Grade for Sixth Graders NEW to UHC\nIEW 1\, 7th-8th Grade for Seventh or Eighth Graders NEW to UHC\n\nThe UHC Parent Training Seminar for IEW writing courses at UHC is 4 hours long and includes a combination of a recorded training and live Q&A sessions. IEW’s founder\, Andrew Pudewa\, introduces the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style method of teaching writing briefly covering the nine units of structure and introducing several stylistic techniques. Participants will gain insight into why this method is so effective in teaching even the most reluctant writer. UHC Staff and IEW teachers will provide live Q&A sessions where they will explain how UHC applies IEW’s structure and style models in our writing classes. UHC staff and teachers will also offer parents the opportunity to ask questions and share input. \nThis seminar will be held at the Grace Church campus of UHC\, in the Worship Center.   Families with students attending GVL\, SPT\, or TR campuses may attend this seminar. \nFind More Details: UHC Parent Training for IEW Writing Courses \nMaterials and Fees: Each attendee will need the handbook Teaching Writing: Structure and Style\, Third Edition. SUMMARY:SPT UHC Parent Training Seminar for IEW Writing Courses 2026
DESCRIPTION:This training seminar is mandatory for parents enrolling students in the following Institute for Excellence in Writing courses at UHC: \n\n3rd Grade IEW\n4th Grade IEW\n5th Grade IEW\nIEW 1\, 6th Grade for Sixth Graders new to UHC\nIEW 1\, 7th-8th Grade for Seventh or Eighth Graders new to UHC\n\nThe UHC Parent Training Seminar for IEW writing courses at UHC is 4 hours long and includes a combination of a recorded training and live Q&A sessions. IEW’s founder\, Andrew Pudewa\, introduces the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style method of teaching writing briefly covering the nine units of structure and introducing several stylistic techniques. Participants will gain insight into why this method is so effective in teaching even the most reluctant writer. UHC Staff and IEW teachers will provide live Q&A sessions where they will explain how UHC applies IEW’s structure and style models in our writing classes. UHC staff and teachers will also offer parents the opportunity to ask questions and share input. \nThis seminar will be held at The Church at the Mill campus of UHC\, in the Student Center.  Families with students attending the GVL\, SPT\, or TR campuses may attend this seminar. \nFind More Details: UHC Parent Training for IEW Writing Courses \nMaterials and Fees: Each attendee will need the handbook Teaching Writing: Structure and Style\, Third Edition. Note:  Second Edition used copies are also acceptable.  This resource is available at the IEW website or at Lifelong Learning Resources for $35.
