SUMMARY:TR MS - Pavilion Ice Skating Field Trip
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun and educational field trip at The Pavilion! We will tour the facility and learn all about ice rinks\, refrigeration\, and important components of ice skating and hockey. After the tour\, students will have the opportunity to take an ice skating and ice hockey lesson as well as have free time to ice skate. Lunch can be added for an additional fee or you may bring your own lunch. \nStudents may be dropped off for this event\, and we will need 2 chaperones to help supervise. Chaperones do not need to purchase a ticket. \nOther adults who would like to skate may purchase a ticket at the rink for $8.95. Siblings may attend as long as the parent is staying the entire time\, and you need to purchase a student ticket for them. \nCost:\n$12.21 (without lunch)\n$16.54 (includes lunch – 2 slices of pizza\, chips\, and a drink) \nRegistration will end Sunday March 29th and no refunds can be given after that date. DESCRIPTION:TOTAL Ministries is a local food bank serving the Spartanburg community. Our middle school students will have the opportunity to see firsthand how the food bank operates and lend a helping hand by packing bags and assisting clients with carrying items to their cars. \nPlease meet at TOTAL Ministries at 9:00 a.m.\, ready to work and dressed according to UHC dress code and wearing closed-toed shoes. Pick-up will be at 12:00 p.m. Afterwards\, anyone who’d like to join is welcome to grab lunch together!

DESCRIPTION:    \nMiddle School Science Day \nGet ready to enjoy hands-on science activities with our UHC GVL teachers! \nWho: Grades 6-8 \nWhen:  Wednesday\, December 3\, 2025\, from 9:10 am to 12:45 pm (This event does NOT include a lunch period) \nWhere: UHC GVL Grace Campus; Check in will be in Main Building\, GYM \nCost: $18.00 per student payable upon sign up. \n\nMrs. Natasha Burman: \n\nOverview:  Students will demonstrate their knowledge of weather\, logic\, precipitation\, food webs and dichotomous keys in an escape room! Students will use their knowledge to crack the codes and unlock the “box” containing the secret information. \nWe will continue our winter weather focus by viewing photographic albums of snowflakes taken by snow crystal photographer and author Kenneth Libbrecht. \nStudents bring: Pencil \n\nMrs. Anna Humphries : Animal and Plant Cell Watercolors \n\nOverview: Combine science and art in this fun lesson that will teach students a variety of watercolor techniques including: wet-on-wet\, rubbing alcohol and salt\, graded wash\, scraping and resisting. Students will choose between sketching an animal or plant cell and use different watercolor techniques to paint it!\n Students bring: Pencil\n\nMrs. Lesley Fox: Roman Roads \n\nOverview: History and science connect in this engineering activity. Class time will begin with a study about the Roman roads and how they worked\, how they were  constructed\, and why they were so sturdy. Students will then have the opportunity to design\, build\, and reflect upon a model Roman road. \n Students bring: Pencil\n\n\n**Important to Remember**\n\nStudents will need to bring their UHC student ID\, water bottle\, pencil\, and a snack.\nDrop off will take place in the regular UHC Grace Church carline.  You may drop off from 8:45-9:05am.\nPick up is at 12:45 via the regular UHC Grace Church Carline.\n\nStudents will check-in that morning in the gym. \nQuestions?
