DESCRIPTION:This outdoor fun event will take place on Friday\, March 7th at 1 pm at Fire Pit Ranch in Spartanburg. This is a combined team building Low Ropes Course for BOTH Spartanburg and Greenville 3rd thru 5th Graders ONLY. Students will use the low ropes course to engage in team building activites aimed at learning to work together as a team\, with maybe a GVL vs SPT competition. \nPlease ONLY sign up 3rd thru 5th Graders for this event. You can bring younger or older siblings along\, but they will not be participating in the low ropes course and do not need to be signed up. This is a beautiful property with a lake where you can walk around with the siblings or you can watch the team building event. A scavenger hunt will be available for siblings who would like to participate. \nThis event will be funded by YOUR donation!!! \nPlease look up Fire Pit Ranch online and on Faceboook to see all the work they are doing to mentor boys who don’t have a father in the home. DESCRIPTION:Join us at The Children’s Museum of the Upstate in Greenville. This is a Spartanburg Elementary field trip for K3-5th graders (and any siblings). We will meet at TCMU at 11:30 am on Friday\, February 28\, 2025. The cost is $8 per person for both students and adults. Payment is required in advance. Children under one year old are free. (This is a savings from the normal cost of $10 for educators or $13 for SC residents.) \nThe address is 300 College Street\, Greenville SC 29601. The lunch room is reserved for us from 12:30 to 1:00 if you would like to bring something to eat. You are permitted to stay as long as you would like at the museum. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a parent training on The Impact of Stress and Anxiety on Learning led by Anna Hunt.\nWhere:  UHC’s Hampton Heights campus in Room 110.  Enter the building via Door B. \nWhen:  Wednesday\, February 26th from 1:30 – 2:30pm \nAnna Hunt Bio: \nI’m a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience in providing comprehensive psychological assessments to children\, adolescents\, and young adults experiencing a variety of cognitive\, academic\, social\, and emotional issues. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Georgia and my Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. In graduate school\, I gained extensive training in assessment within school\, clinical\, medical\, and research settings. As part of my training\, I moved to Greenville to complete an assessment-focused internship and postdoctoral residency at Prisma’s Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. After deciding I was ready to call Greenville home\, I spent 8 years working at Clarity: The Speech\, Hearing\, and Learning Center. In 2014\, I partnered with Drs. Batson and Williams in establishing Greenville Assessment & Learning Specialists (GALS)\, where assessment is our passion. \nAt GALS\, I enjoy working with children and their caregivers to better understand their unique profile of strengths and challenges\, and what might help them be more successful. Because every case is unique\, I strive to provide a tailored assessment battery designed to answer specific referral concerns. The goal of this individualized approach is to provide clients and their families with a road map to build on their strengths\, address specific areas of challenge\, and support their future needs. \nOn a personal note\, I grew up in Tennessee and Georgia before settling down in South Carolina. My husband and I love living in Greenville\, where we met and are now raising our two children and two pets\, a golden retriever and a leopard gecko. I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends\, traveling\, being outdoors\, reading\, and cooking.

DESCRIPTION:UHC Elementary Valentine’s Disco – Daddy Daughter Dance\nSaturday\, February 8th- 6:30-8:00 pm\nHampton Heights Gym \nElementary ladies of UHC and an adult dad\, stepdad\, guardian\, uncle\, grandfather\, etc. are invited to our second annual ever Daddy Daughter Dance! Ticket prices are $15 a family and include music\, dancing\, light snacks\, and drinks. All students must be accompanied by a guardian. Dads are welcome to bring more than one elementary-aged daughter to the dance. Dress up or come casual\, but make sure to review the UHC handbook dress code when making outfit selections. Keep your email confirmation and check in at the door the night of the dance. \n Tickets are non-refundable after Thursday\, February 6th\, 2025. \nTickets are sold out! DESCRIPTION:Open to all ages for Spartanburg UHC\, join us for snow tubing at Zip n Slip in Mars Hill\, NC on Monday\, January 27th 11:00am-1:00pm. $15/rider for 2 hours (which is a HIGHLY discounted rate. The owners are former homeschoolers and have a heart for homeschooling which is why they are offering this rate). Ages 3-5 are free if riding on a parent’s lap. Ages 2 and under may not tube\, but they can play in the snow and they will give you a tube to pull them around on if you’d like. After tubing\, warm up around with the fire roasting marshmallows. Feel free to pack a lunch as there are picnic tables on the property. There are also a few restaurants nearby they recommended that could use the business. Please print and sign the waiver to bring with you found on their website. Pay upon arrival\, but please sign up so we can give them a head count.

DESCRIPTION:This Field Trip for Spartanburg 3rd thru 5th graders (only) will take place on Wednesday\, January 15th at 10:00 am. This is a 2 hour (drop off) tour about Faith and Technology. This will include information regarding televison production and Alight Ministry. It also includes a tour of the broadcast studio for Z Radio\, both at First Baptist Spartanburg\, 250 East Main Street\, 29306. \nThis is sure to be a fun\, informative tour led by Britt Dillard. There is no cost for this field trip\, but space is limited\, so sign up today. We will need 3 chaperones\, but siblings cannot attend due to space constraints. Please plan to arrive by 9:50 so we can start promptly at 10 am. We will meet at the Welcome Center in back of the main church\, across from Barnett Park.
