DESCRIPTION:This training seminar is mandatory for parents enrolling students in the following Institute for Excellence in Writing courses at UHC: \n\n3rd Grade IEW\n4th Grade IEW\n5th Grade IEW\nIEW 1\, 6th Grade for Sixth Graders new to UHC\nIEW 1\, 7th-8th Grade for Seventh or Eighth Graders new to UHC\n\nThe UHC Parent Training Seminar for IEW writing courses at UHC is 3 hours long and includes a combination of a recorded training and live Q&A sessions. IEW’s founder\, Andrew Pudewa\, introduces the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style method of teaching writing briefly covering the nine units of structure and introducing several stylistic techniques. Participants will gain insight into why this method is so effective in teaching even the most reluctant writer. UHC Staff and IEW teachers will provide live Q&A sessions where they will explain how UHC applies IEW’s structure and style models in our writing classes.
