SUMMARY:SPT Field Trip: Vulcan Materials Rock Quarry Tour
DESCRIPTION:Visit the local rock quarry at Vulcan in Pacolet\, SC to learn all about it! \nWe will have a presentation\, the board a van to take a tour all through the rock quarry to see what they do! We will end with a pizza lunch and goodie bags provided by Vulcan Materials. \nTours typically include a general presentation by a Vulcan representative before the group proceeds on the tour of the production facility. The general presentation includes information about Vulcan Materials Company\, the use of minerals within society and particularly the role aggregates play in today’s world. There is also a discussion of the mining process\, how we produce aggregates\, the regulatory and permitting requirements and reclamation efforts. A safety talk is also included that addresses the safety requirements for the specific tour and group of visitors. \nThis trip is limited to 25 students. There is no fee for this field trip. Due to limited sign-ups\, please only register if you are committed to going. \nDue to the limited capacity\, this will be specifically for K5-5th grade students only. \nParents are encouraged to stay\, but not required. We will need (6) volunteers to officially act as chaperones\, specifically for the tour through the quarry.  Any additional adults who stay will be unable to go on the tour part of the day because of limited spots on the van.

DESCRIPTION:Join us to get your kids in the true spirit of Christmas – giving\, sharing and showing the love of Christ by singing fun Christmas songs and playing Bingo with Assisted Living residents \nWhen: Tuesday\, December 2nd\nTime: 1:00 pm\nWhere: Lakewood Assisted Living\n3701 Clark Rd. Boiling Springs SC \nPLEASE WEAR YOUR RED OR BLUE UHC SHIRTS and JEANS\, if possible. \nThe children will sing three songs to the residents. The following music will play while the kids sing three songs. These are the times for the songs on this video (I chose ones they might already know). If you can let your kids listen to these\, it would be great. We will practice when we arrive there. \n#1 Jingle Bells (0.00 – 2:28)\n#2 Wish you a Merry Christmas (2:29 – 5:12)\n#4 Rudolph (8:00 – 11:16) \nPlease click here for songs.  \nA child will be paired with a resident for Bingo. They will both win together\, so kids will get prizes also. \nSuggested donation $3 to $5 a family to cover the cost of the Bingo prizes which can be paid when you arrive. \nOLDER AND YOUNGER SIBLINGS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND.

DESCRIPTION:The AFTERNOON & MORNING SESSIONS are now FULL.  You can waitlist for the morning session event below.  \n  \n  \n \n\nLet’s Celebrate Christmas with a day of Fun and Festivity! \nWhat: UHC’s annual Elementary Christmas Extravaganza! Students will rotate through Christmas themed stations making special Christmas crafts and playing Christmas themed games. While having fun and being creative\, we will celebrate the true meaning of Christmas\, sing together\, and enjoy a snack.  Wear your most festive Christmas outfit! \nThere will be TWO GVL Elementary Christmas Extravaganza events this year – a morning session and an afternoon session.  Both events will be doing EXACTLY the same crafts and games – Please only sign up for 1 event:  either the morning session or afternoon session\, both are on December 3rd\, 2025.   \nWho: K4 through 5th graders are invited!  *All K4 students must be accompanied by a parent or other adult.  Unfortunately\, parents cannot bring toddlers or mobile infants as this event is not suitable for those ages. \nWhen: Wednesday\, December 3rd\, 2025- \n\nMorning Session:  9:00am – 12:00pm – this is the sign up page for the morning session!\n\nWhere: UHC GVL- Hampton Heights Campus- GYM \nCost: $12.75 per student payable upon sign up below. \n**Important to Remember** \n\nA snack will be provided (goldfish) but if your child has special dietary needs\, please send a snack they can eat.  Bring your student a water bottle labeled with their name!\nPlease park and walk in to the Gym to Drop off/Pick up your students.\nK4 students must have a parent stay for the event.  See note above about baby and toddler siblings.\nSign Up fees are refundable up to Sunday\, November 30th\, 2025.  After that date\, sign up fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.\n\nQuestions?
