With our augmented reality sandboxes\, students will also shape and create landforms that impact our environment. Students will walk away from this lesson as Conservation Cadets with solutions to help protect our Earth! \nEco Detectives: Students will become wildlife biologists as they examine mystery skulls\, scats\, and dissected owl pellets of animals in our local ecosystems. Hands-on activities will be used to infer what kind of consumers live in our ecosystems and what they depend upon for food. \nChaperones are needed for this trip and will be chosen by timestamp based on sign ups!

DESCRIPTION:UHC Families\, \nWe are selling Attractions books to raise money for various student government funded projects throughout the year like our teacher appreciation luncheon\, hot chocolate parties\, high school dances\, and other fun activities! One book will be handed out to the oldest child in each family during the week of September 11-13th . We are asking each family to buy or sell one $25 coupon book. You will find more information on the envelopes inside the books. To purchase a book you can send cash in the included envelope\, check made out to UHC or the easiest way is to pay online at attractionsbook.com/pay with EZpay Code: UHC2023. We have both Spartanburg and Greenville books available and others by request. If you’d like to exchange your book for a different county\, write a note on your envelope and turn it in. Hampton Heights and Church at the Mill students are welcome to hand in packets or return books to their teachers. Grace campus students can head to the student government table at lunch in the Student Center and gym with any returns\, payments\, or additional books. The deadline to purchase or sell books and turn in the money is September 27th. Any unsold books must also be returned by September 27th. DESCRIPTION:What: Greenville Campus Elementary students (K3-5th) and their families are invited to come meet their teachers and see their classrooms. \nWhen:  Wednesday\, August 30th from 12:00-2:00pm \nWhere:  Hampton Heights Baptist Church (2511 Wade Hampton Blvd\, Greenville\, SC 29615) \nWhat to Bring: \n\nSupplies from the Class Supply Lists\nGeneral UHC supplies:\n\nEach UHC family is expected to bring the following to UHC for next school year:\n\nALL families- bring 2 reams of copy paper per family AND\nLast name A – H bring Simple Green All Purpose Spray Cleaner (or other safe spray)\nLast name I – P Clorox Type Wipes\nLast name Q – Z names bring a 2 pack of paper towel rolls\n\nPlease label each item with your last name.  Bring your items to any parent meeting\, orientation\, meet the teacher\, type event etc… for parents or students OR drop them off in the car line on the first day of co-op!\n\n\nPrint your child’s schedule so you know what rooms/teachers to visit!\n\nGVL Lower Elementary Class Schedule\nGVL Upper Elementary Class Schedules\n\n\n\n\nItalian Ice will be available for purchase ($3 for small\, $4 for large) under the picnic shelter near the playground so bring cash!\n\nMark your calendars and come join us!  Attendance is optional.

SUMMARY:SPT UHC Parent Training Seminar for IEW Writing Courses 2023
DESCRIPTION:This training seminar is mandatory for parents enrolling students in the following Institute for Excellence in Writing courses at UHC: \n\n3rd Grade IEW\n4th Grade IEW\n5th Grade IEW\nIEW 1\, 6th Grade for Sixth Graders new to UHC\nIEW 1\, 7th-8th Grade for Seventh or Eighth Graders new to UHC\n\nThe UHC Parent Training Seminar for IEW writing courses at UHC is 3 hours long and includes a combination of a recorded training and live Q&A sessions. IEW’s founder\, Andrew Pudewa\, introduces the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style method of teaching writing briefly covering the nine units of structure and introducing several stylistic techniques. Participants will gain insight into why this method is so effective in teaching even the most reluctant writer. UHC Staff and IEW teachers will provide live Q&A sessions where they will explain how UHC applies IEW’s structure and style models in our writing classes. SUMMARY:GVL - Navigating the High School Maze: Homeschool Planning Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Place: Grace Church Taylors/UHC Campus – 2701 Wade Hampton Blvd in Room 211 \nOne-time requirement per family for UHC High School Registration\, Open to the public. \nIf you are putting a student in our high school program\, even as an 8th grader\, this class is mandatory. It is a one-time obligatory requirement per family and must be done in order to register. Students need not attend. To register as a current member with a new high school student\, you must be signed up for the seminar. Please note that your high school registration will not be secured until the class is completed. This is not to be harsh\, but rather because we have found over the years that there are many important details for our high school families as they travel the journey towards graduation that are communicated in this seminar.
