DESCRIPTION:*Due to the overwhelming response to the first trip\, a second one has been scheduled! Out of respect for the many that didn’t get to attend the first one\, please allow those who did not get to attend the first trip sign up.* \nJoin us for 2 hours of tubing at Zip N Slip in NC on Tuesday\, March 5th from 10:00-12:00. We will have the whole snow park to ourselves! Each ticket is only $15 per person due to a HUGE homeschool discount! Children ages 3-5 are free with a paying adult. Children under the age of 3 are not allowed down the slope due to their insurance regulations\, but they are allowed to play in the snow. After tubing\, they provide marshmallows to roast. You can pack a lunch. Also\, a change of clothes is recommended as you will get messy. Please print out and sign a waiver that you can find online on their website for your family. Payment will be due on site when you arrive! We just need a headcount of who is attending.

SUMMARY:GVL Elementary Field Trip: Western NC Nature Center
DESCRIPTION:Join us at 10:00 on February 29th at the Western North Carolina Nature Center in Asheville for a guided tour on habitats. Please bring a lunch if desired\, a water bottle\, and good walking shoes. The walking loop is about 1.5 miles long with hills involved. All paths are paved if you need a stroller\, but keep in mind the paths are hilly! The event will occur rain or shine. There is a gift shop for snacks/drinks. \nTickets are $6.31 per individual. Children 2 & under are free. Please purchase a ticket for anyone over the age of 2. If you are also bringing a child under the age of 2\, please RSVP for them so we have an accurate headcount.  \nPayment will be non-refundable after February 26th.

DESCRIPTION:“What is truth?” The infamous words of Pilate are more relevant today than ever before. In the culture with no absolutes\, Gen Z is often faced with navigating political and cultural issues without a solid Biblical foundation. \nUHC is honored to partner with Dr. Tony Beam\, Dr. Hunter Baker\, Austin Donahoo\, and Felicity Ropp to bring an all-day event called “Truth in Politics and Culture” to our High School Students on Monday\, February 26th\, 2024.  \nDr. Tony Beam is a Senior Director of Church and Community Engagement and Public Affairs at North Greenville University. Austin Donahoo is a Senior Advocacy Specialist at World Relief Upstate SC.  You can read their biographies HERE. \nDr. Hunter Baker is Provost and Dean of the University Faculty at North Greenville University. You can read his biography HERE. \nFelicity Ropp\, a UHC graduate\, is a policy analyst at Palmetto Promise Institute. You can see her biography HERE. \nYou can view list of topics discussed during the seminar HERE. \nIMPORTANT EVENT DETAILS: \nPLEASE NOTE – THIS APPLIES TO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ONLY! \n\nDr. Beam\, Mr. Donahoo\, and Felicity Ropp will be guest speakers in several classrooms during the entire day\, including Focus Study.\nNO-out-to-lunch Day!  Highschool students must stay on campus. A speaker session will be offered in MPR during the lunch hour. Dr. Hunter Baker will talk about the importance of Christian involvement in the political process\, and how that relates to political science. DESCRIPTION:Join us for 2 hours of tubing at Zip N Slip in NC on Tuesday\, February 20th from 10:00-12:00. We will have the whole snow park to ourselves! Each ticket is only $15 per person due to a HUGE homeschool discount! Children ages 3-5 are free with a paying adult. Children under the age of 3 are not allowed down the slope due to their insurance regulations. After tubing\, they provide marshmallows to roast. You can pack a lunch. Also\, a change of clothes are recommended as you will get messy. Please print out and sign a waiver that you can find online on their website for your family. There will be extra at the event as needed! Payment will be due on site when you arrive! We just need a headcount of who is attending.
