SUMMARY:Digital Technology/Google Apps Workshop for Middle School Students
DESCRIPTION:We live in a world surrounded by technology and we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults\, their ability to succeed will increasingly depend on understanding how to use technology effectively. This workshop is for Middle School students and will teach your student to use the Jupiter Grades system to find assignments\, create and upload files to teachers\, use Google apps for IEW\, presentations\, and more! This class is perfect for beginning students and students who need a refresher on how to use these programs and tools. This workshop style class meets 4 times in August\, with different lessons each time. \nWorkshop dates (students must attend all four dates):\nWednesday\, August 12: 11:30am-12:45pm\nMonday\, August 17: 11:30am-12:45pm\nMonday\, August 24: 11:30am-12:45pm\nWednesday\, August 26: 11:30am-12:45pm \nMaterials Needed:\na laptop computer\, or Chromebook –must have WiFi and internet browsing capabilities\nfolder for class handouts\npencil and notebook paper \nLocation:\nGrace campus\, Student Center Room 110 \n  \nRegistration for this event is on the August 12th date\, click here.

Classes promote basic physical and computer science concepts\, develop creative problem solving\, collaboration of ideas\, and teamwork. \n\nIn August we will build and program robots that have gears and pulleys!
