SUMMARY:GVL: 2nd Grade Paris Mtn. Biodiversity Field Trip
DESCRIPTION:Second graders\, siblings\, and families please join us at Paris Mountain on Friday\, March 28th from 9:15-1:30 to learn about biodiversity! \nEach student K5 and up is $5. Adults are not charged\, but they must be present as a chaperone. All students are charged $5 regardless of state park pass. Entry to park is waived with field trip payment. We need 25 students for the field trip to occur. \nStudents will collect water and perform land field investigations as they collect animals\, measure water and air temperature\, and look for patterns among water animals. Students will hike around Lake Placid at the end observing plants and animals. \nPlease bring lunch\, water\, and water shoes if desired. We cannot offer refunds after Tuesday\, March 25th.

SUMMARY:SPT & GVL 3rd thru 5th Graders - Low Ropes Course Team Building Activity at Fire Pit Ranch
DESCRIPTION:This outdoor fun event will take place on Friday\, March 7th at 1 pm at Fire Pit Ranch in Spartanburg. This is a combined team building Low Ropes Course for BOTH Spartanburg and Greenville 3rd thru 5th Graders ONLY. Students will use the low ropes course to engage in team building activites aimed at learning to work together as a team\, with maybe a GVL vs SPT competition. \nPlease ONLY sign up 3rd thru 5th Graders for this event. You can bring younger or older siblings along\, but they will not be participating in the low ropes course and do not need to be signed up. This is a beautiful property with a lake where you can walk around with the siblings or you can watch the team building event. A scavenger hunt will be available for siblings who would like to participate. \nThis event will be funded by YOUR donation!!! \nPlease look up Fire Pit Ranch online and on Faceboook to see all the work they are doing to mentor boys who don’t have a father in the home. In addition\, they have taken the lead on sending crews to NC to rebuild homes\, barns and farmland for our neighbors in NC after Hurricane Helene. Out of respect for the many that didn’t get to attend the first one\, please allow those who did not get to attend the first trip sign up.* \nJoin us for 2 hours of tubing at Zip N Slip in NC on Tuesday\, March 5th from 10:00-12:00. We will have the whole snow park to ourselves! Each ticket is only $15 per person due to a HUGE homeschool discount! Children ages 3-5 are free with a paying adult. Children under the age of 3 are not allowed down the slope due to their insurance regulations\, but they are allowed to play in the snow. After tubing\, they provide marshmallows to roast. You can pack a lunch. Also\, a change of clothes is recommended as you will get messy. Please print out and sign a waiver that you can find online on their website for your family. Payment will be due on site when you arrive! We just need a headcount of who is attending.

SUMMARY:GVL Elementary Field Trip: Western NC Nature Center
DESCRIPTION:Join us at 10:00 on February 29th at the Western North Carolina Nature Center in Asheville for a guided tour on habitats. Please bring a lunch if desired\, a water bottle\, and good walking shoes. The walking loop is about 1.5 miles long with hills involved. All paths are paved if you need a stroller\, but keep in mind the paths are hilly! The event will occur rain or shine. There is a gift shop for snacks/drinks. \nTickets are $6.31 per individual. Children 2 & under are free. Please purchase a ticket for anyone over the age of 2. If you are also bringing a child under the age of 2\, please RSVP for them so we have an accurate headcount.  \nPayment will be non-refundable after February 26th.
