Introduction to Business Honors GVL
Course Description
An overview of the world of business covering owning and operating a business, personal financial planning, and interviewing skills. This class utilizes project-based learning for concept knowledge. Students will participate in a Shark Tank, learning about franchises, and in-depth book discussions relevant to today’s business world. Class will also help students build relationship skills at home, school, work, and in the community.
To be successful in this class:
Students must be able to keep up with assigned reading material, and be able to discuss in class. Students should be able to establish relationships for required team work. Students should be self-motivated and have a desire to learn. Anticipate 1 hour of homework per week.
Grades: 10th Grade, 11th Grade, 12th Grade

Prerequisites:
It is helpful if the student has a basic knowledge of a work environment.

Honors Addendum Summary
All honor students will read two teacher-approved books during the school year or complete an approved project. An assignment (paper or presentation) will be completed for each book/project.
