Course Description
This class is for the seventh grader who needs a solid course in the basics. Using the All Things Algebra curriculum, this class will cover number sense, algebraic expressions, equations & inequalities, ratio, proportions & percentages, functions & graphing, an introduction to geometry, measurement (area & volume), and probability & statistics. This class will help solidify math skills and works well for anyone taking Pre-Algebra the following year. Assignments will be posted in Jupiter Ed.
8th graders who need practice with basic arithmetic may enroll in this class. Please check the syllabus for more detailed information.
ATTENTION: Summer homework is required. It will be assigned in early August and will need to be completed by the first day of class.
To be successful in this class:
Students must participate in classroom activities, follow classroom procedures, and complete at-home assignments accurately and on time. Throughout the co-op week, students will be assigned 3-4 days of homework with each day requiring 30-45 minutes for total of approximately 4 hours of homework each week.
Summer and Christmas break homework will be assigned and is required.
Parents must be involved at home on a daily basis, use the answer key, reteach/review, check, and correct daily homework.

Required Materials
Textbooks:
- Math 7, All Things Algebra workbooks will be printed and bound for students to use in class and for homework. The course fee paid upon enrollment covers the printing/binding cost.
NOTE: Families will be required to print select workbook pages to complete the required summer assignments.
Other Materials:
- Sharpened pencils with erasers
- Colored pencils
- Calculator, scientific (teacher recommends this one HERE)
- Highlighters
- Fine tip whiteboard markers (EXPO preferred)
Meet Anna Palmer
Education: Bachelors of Science in Biology from North Greenville University and a Masters of Arts in Teaching General Sciences +30 from University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC
Experience: She began teaching in 2010 as a Special Needs Therapist. While earning her Masters in Teaching, she worked with autistic patients as a trained ABA therapist. During that time she served as a NSF S-STEM fellows teaching assistant at WA Perry Middle School in an after-school science enrichment program. In the fall of 2011 she began teaching High School Biology as a student teaching intern at Brookland Cayce High School and Blythewood High School. Upon finishing her Masters, she taught college prep and honors level Chemistry at Dreher High School for the 2012-2013 academic year. In the summer of 2013, she got married and moved to Spartanburg and began teaching College Prep, Advanced, and Honors Chemistry at Dorman High School. She taught Chemistry at Dorman for 11 years and decided to leave the public school sector in 2024 to begin my homeschool journey. In the spring of 2025, she taught an elementary homeschool chorus through Monroe Music Academy. During that time, she also began leading the Middle and High School age students at Bible Study Fellowship.
Homeschooling Experience: She began homeschooling my children in the fall of 2024.
