Course Description

This is an introduction to the Spanish language and the countries and cultures that use it.  The students will learn a wide range of vocabulary and phrases. They will also learn frequently used verbs and how to conjugate them in the present tense. They will work on correct pronunciation and accent. The work done in this class will be directed towards preparing the student for high school Spanish 1.

To be successful in this class:

Students should be able and willing to learn a weekly vocabulary list, participate in class, and not be afraid to make mistakes. (Practice makes progress!!)  Also, students will need to commit to 15-20 minutes of homework three days per week. Access to digital games and drills will be necessary.

Grades: 7th Grade, 8th Grade

Fees: $360 per year, plus $15 textbook/materials fee
