Digital Technology Google Apps Workshops for Middle School
We live in a world surrounded by technology and we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly depend on understanding how to use technology effectively. This workshop will teach your student to use the Jupiter Grades system to find assignments, create and upload files to teachers, use Google apps for IEW, presentations, and more! This class is perfect for beginning students and students who need a refresher on how to use these programs and tools.
Course Overview
- Sending emails with Gmail
- Organize your files using Google Drive
- Build Healthy Digital Habits (Google Docs, sharing/editing Docs)
- Build Healthy Digital Habits (Posters using Google Drawings)
- Build Healthy Digital Habits (Google Slides)
- Evaluate Credibility of Online Sources (research paper writing)
- Create a study schedule to meet your goals (Google Sheets)
- Create a Guessing Game (Google Forms)
- Intro/Overview of Jupiter Grades- checking assignments, uploading work, etc
Please Note: iPads or other tablets aren’t compatible with the lessons we will be doing for this class.

- laptop computer or Chromebook -must have WiFi and internet browsing capabilities
- folder for class handouts
- pencil and notebook paper
