This training seminar is mandatory for parents enrolling students in the following Institute for Excellence in Writing courses at UHC:
The UHC Parent Training Seminar for IEW writing courses at UHC is 4 hours long and includes a combination of a recorded training and live Q&A sessions. IEW’s founder, Andrew Pudewa, introduces the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style method of teaching writing briefly covering the nine units of structure and introducing several stylistic techniques. Participants will gain insight into why this method is so effective in teaching even the most reluctant writer. UHC Staff and IEW teachers will provide live Q&A sessions where they will explain how UHC applies IEW’s structure and style models in our writing classes. UHC staff and teachers will also offer parents the opportunity to ask questions and share input.
This seminar will be held at The Church at the Mill campus of UHC, in the Student Center. Families with students attending either GVL or SPT campus may attend this seminar.
