2026-2027 School Year

Math 6 TR

Mondays AND Wednesdays

Course Description

This 6th grade math course builds on arithmetic concepts and prepares students for more complex skills presented in middle school. The curriculum is Math 6 from All Things Algebra.

Assignments will be posted on the homework assignment calendar in Jupiter Ed. This class follows the 24-week middle school schedule and will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays.

ATTENTION: Summer homework is required. It will be assigned in early August and will need to be completed by the first day of class.

To be successful in this class:

Students will be required to actively participate through completing notes, examples, practice problems and test reviews in their workbook. They will use these in whole group instruction as well as in cooperative grouping activities. Their participation and note-taking helps enhance their understanding and will help to prepare them for their homework and tests/quizzes. Students should expect to spend 2-3 hours completing at-home assignments each week. It is expected that the teaching parent will be heavily involved in homework completion, checking for accuracy, and corrections. Parents are required to initial each completed assignment to indicate that the student has made a best effort on the assignment and corrections have been done thoroughly. This class is fast paced and requires dedication to daily homework and parent involvement.

Summer and Christmas break homework will be assigned and is required.

Parents must be involved at home on a daily basis, use the answer key, reteach/review, check, and correct daily homework.
