Decorated Graduation Caps  (optional)

  • Seniors have the option of decorating a PURCHASED graduation cap.  DO NOT DECORATE THE CAP GIVEN TO YOU BY UHC!
  • If you would like to decorate a cap, please purchase from THIS LINK.  You must use this specific one so that it matches others.  However, do NOT use the red tassel that comes with it.  Seniors should all wear the silver tassel that is provided with your UHC cap and gown.
  • Decorations should celebrate the senior.  They should not include social or political messages.  UHC reserves the right to not allow a decorated cap, even on graduation day.  Decorated caps will be monitored at graduation to ensure that they meet the given requirements.
  • The UHC-issued cap must be returned at or before graduation.  You can keep the decorated cap that you purchased and decorated.
  • Please see THIS DOCUMENT for examples.

Parents will present a diploma in a diploma cover to their graduate at the UHC graduation ceremony. UHC does NOT provide diploma, cover, or announcements/invitations.

Diploma:   Homeschool parents can make or purchase a diploma.  Check with your association, as some may provide this for a fee or as part of membership.

Cover/Holder:  The diploma cover/holder is usually a faux leather folder where you place your diploma.

Ordering Suggestions:

  • A diploma, diploma cover, and announcements can be ordered through HSLDA.
  • If you make your own diploma or receive one from your association, you can purchase a cover on Amazon. HERE is one example.
  • Check with your association, as they may provide this or an option for ordering with them.

**NEW FOR 2025:  If you would like your senior’s future plans to be included, please incorporate those into your message to your graduate.  Future plans will not be read separately this year.  Some samples are below.

SAMPLE:

The 3rd Musketeer. Growing up with 2 older brothers made you TOUGH. We’d often see you run down the driveway after your brothers, fall down, and get right back up, oblivious to the fact that both your knees were bleeding! You had your goal in mind. Nothing was going to stop you, and that’s how you’ve lived your life ever since! From Little League baseball, ready at 6:30am to play your noon game, to now … out the door early Sundays to meet your accountability partner, you are ALL IN. Your humor, warmth and heart humble us.  We’re proud of you and excited to see what God does in your life as you pursue your engineering degree at Clemson in the fall.  We love you, Mom and Dad.

SAMPLE:

You have amazed us since the day you were born.  We have been blessed over and over, seeing the Lord work in your life.  Your servant heart, kindness, creativity, ingenuity, and warm personality are all beautiful works of the Holy Spirit.  We have prayed and continue to pray that the Lord would always be first in your life, that you would fall deeper in love with Him and His Word every day, that He would be your Satisfaction and your Hope.  May God use you for His glory in every season of your life, including this next one as you serve with YWAM and pursue missions work.

SAMPLE:

Raising you has been something akin to riding a bucking bronco bareback. But, goodness, God has been faithful to grow and stretch us all in more ways than we can count. We love your determination, passion, and spirit, at least most days, and have been thankful to have a front row seat as you’ve taken on your education, work and sports. As you continue your job with the Green Grass Landscaping, always stand firm, knowing to Whom you belong.

“The LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior.  He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zeph. 3:17
