Course Description
The study of art at UHC helps students better see and appreciate God’s own artistic brilliance in His lavish creation. Studio practice is augmented by a weekly lecture, films or paintings, and group discussion. There is an intentional focus on creativity and mastery of basic understanding of the elements of design, which are taught through a variety of media and hands-on learning. The children learn to create, critique, and grow in their skills and understanding of art and how historically it has been shaped, or shapes, culture. There is no homework for Art class.
To be successful in this class:
Listen and participate in class, complete assigned work diligently and intentionally, and follow instructions.

Education: Masters in Elementary Education at Converse University Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a concentration in art history from university of South Carolina- Upstate
Teaching experience:
- Taught all subjects 3rd grade public school one year.
- Taught 2nd grade all subjects private school 9 years.
- 5th grade teacher of homeschool students all subjects
- Classical Conversations 5 years
Homeschool experience: Homeschool mom/teacher 10 years
