2025-2026 School Year
American Sign Language 2 GVL
Course Description
ASL 2 picks up where ASL 1 left off. ASL 2 focuses on the same functional, skill building, and comprehension approaches from ASL 1, only more advanced. Key dialogues, narratives, and vocabulary lead to student excellence. ASL 2 integrates culture and language learning, with culture lessons in every unit to expand students’ understanding of Deaf world. ASL 2 is an immersion class, with more focus on using visual language to communicate, and on maintaining a silent classroom.
To be successful in this class:
A student must be able to maintain a silent classroom and devote time each day at home to practice the language and do homework (2-3 hours/week).
