2026-2027 School Year
English w/British Literature Honors SPT
Course Description
This literature class will expose the students to different styles, genres, and forms of literature. Students will do the reading outside of class. In class, we will discuss the material, completely different types of activities, and take quizzes on the material. Grades will be based upon class participation, writing assignments and quizzes, projects, quizzes, and homework assignments.
Please be aware that there are times when a topic might require reteaching or students might need extra practice on a specific subject. If this occurs the teacher will adjust the live calendar and notify the parents and students. The goal is to help the student master the required skills for the class which will sometimes mean a slight change of plans.
To be successful in this class:
To be successful in this class, students must have good time management skills, be able to organize material and complete assignments turning them in on time. Students will be expected to be able to maintain a rigorous reading schedule, come to class prepared, take an active part in classroom discussions; write responses to material read; and pass tests and quizzes that cover the material discussed and read.
