Introduction to Spanish SPT

Course Description
This is an introduction to the Spanish language and the countries and cultures that use it. The students will learn a wide range of vocabulary and phrases. They will also learn frequently used verbs and how to conjugate them in the present tense. They will work on correct pronunciation and accent. The work done in this class will be directed towards preparing the student for high school Spanish 1.
To be successful in this class:
Students should be able and willing to memorize a weekly vocabulary list and have a good working knowledge of English grammar. Also, students will need to commit to 20 minutes of homework three days per week. Access to quizlet would be beneficial.
Grades: 6th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade

Required Materials
Weekly grammar and vocabulary documents will be supplied to students.
Other Materials:
- 1 inch, three-ring binder (used exclusively for this class)
- 12 pack colored pencils
- 2 packs of index cards
- 8 binder dividers
Meet Lily Woolbright
Education: Bachelor of Art Degree in Spanish Education from North Greenville University
Experience: Lily taught High School Spanish for the public school system between 2022- 2024.
Certifications: Certified Spanish Teacher
