2026-2027 School Year

World Geography for Middle School GVL

Monday AND Wednesday

Course Description

Students will be encouraged to learn more about the world and its complexity as they study each of the seven continents. They will engage in cross-curricular activities to reinforce the information gathered from class notes, high-interest text, maps, charts, graphs, and timelines. Students will spend ample time utilizing physical, political, and thematic maps and honing the skills (directions, grids, scales, legends and symbols) needed for those maps to be beneficial. Students will also learn about the culture, religion, geography and language of 2 specific people groups that is currently unreached by the Gospel of Jesus and will consider what their role might be in spreading the Good News throughout the world.

To be successful in this class:

Students should come to class with needed supplies ready to participate and collaborate in meaningful activity. They will need to follow directions, engage well with classmates, take notes, and complete the listed assignments. Homework will be scheduled twice a week and is expected to take approximately an hour total time. It may include some reading, preparing for map quizzes, and weekly Juno Pods. In addition, there will be one project assigned per semester.
