Course Description

This 6th grade math course builds on arithmetic concepts and prepares students for more complex skills presented in middle school. The curriculum is Math 6 from All Things Algebra.

Assignments will be posted on the homework assignment calendar in Jupiter Ed. This class follows the 24-week middle school schedule and will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays.

ATTENTION: Summer homework is required. It will be assigned in early August and will need to be completed by the first day of class.

This class is for middle schoolers who needs a solid course in the basics. Using the All Things Algebra curriculum, this class will cover covers number sense, algebraic expressions, equations & inequalities, ratio, proportions & percentages, functions & graphing, an introduction to geometry, measurement (area & volume), and probability & statistics. This class will help solidify math skills and works well for anyone taking Pre-Algebra the following year. Assignments will be posted in Jupiter Ed.

The curriculum is intended for 7th grade students or advanced 6th graders as well as 8th graders who need practice with basic arithmetic.
