WHO: 7th and 8th grade students

WHEN: Monday, August 10, 2026, from 10:00am -12:15 pm

WHERE: UHC Grace Church Campus (2701 Wade Hampton BLVD, Greenville, 29615)

We are excited to welcome you to campus!  During orientation students will have an opportunity to meet their teachers, reconnect with old and new friends, and enjoy an ice cream social.

PARENTS: 7th/8th grade parents are invited to see classrooms and meet teachers before the scheduled rotations, 9:45-10:20am.

STUDENTS: Meet in the Worship Center beginning at 9:45. You can be dropped off via our normal carpool line procedure.  Read below for what do/bring on Aug. 10th.  Looking forward to seeing all our 7th and 8th graders!

BEFORE YOU COME TO ORIENTATION:

1. Read the UHC Middle School Handbook with your your parents making sure to emphasize the following sections:

2. Complete the Jupiter Ed Middle School Training. You will find it assigned in JE in your class titled “Middle School Students.” Plan to set aside 20 minutes. If you do not complete this by midnight on August 9th, you will need to pay $1 for your ice cream at orientation.

3. Complete and submit the digital 6th-12th Grade Student Contract.

4.  Print your schedule from Jupiter Ed. If you follow the instructions, it will print your classes and room numbers for orientation. DO NOT PRINT UNTIL the week prior to orientation.

5. Wear your UHC student ID from last year if you still have it.

6. Bring supplies to be dropped off at carline.

*Supplies Required  (per family): Purchase and label each item with your last name: 

        • ALL families- bring 2 reams of copy paper per family AND
          • Last name A – H:  Bring 2 rolls of paper towels
          • Last name I – P:  Bring 2 canisters of sanitizing wipes
          • Last name Q – Z:  Bring 1 pack of Expo markers

7th/8th Grade GVL Student Orientation Schedule

**8th Graders taking high school courses attend the MIDDLE SCHOOL large group meeting at the beginning of orientation and the MIDDLE SCHOOL ice cream event at the end of orientation. You will return to campus in the afternoon to attend your high school class orientations, but you will NOT attend the HS General Meeting nor the HS Ice Cream Event.

9:45-10:00Students arrive at the Worship Center for Check -in
9:45-10:20 7th/8th grade parents invited to meet teachers in classrooms
10:00-10:25 Student Meeting in the Worship Center, Main Building
10:30-10:45 Students go to 0 hour class. *If no class, wait in the meeting area.*
10:50-11:05 Students go to 1st hour class. (If no class, go to room 213)
11:10-11:25 Students go to 2nd hour class. (If no class, go to room 213)
11:30-11:45 Students go to 3rd hour class. (If no class, go to room 213)
11:50-12:05 Students go to 4th hour class. (If no class, go to room 213)
12:05- 12:15 Optional: Ice Cream in the Gym. *Bring $1 OR receive FREE Ice Cream for completion of JE Training
