High School
The UHC high school program is a cooperative for homeschooling families offering a variety of core and elective classes. We do not take the place of a school, but come alongside homeschool families to offer classes that will assist parents as they teach their children.
Our high school courses at UHC have an academic focus to prepare students for their next step after graduation, whether attending college or a technical school, joining the military, or entering the workforce.
UHC currently has two high school programs:
- Greenville classes meet at Grace Church in Taylors on Mondays and Wednesdays, with classes scheduled from 8:00 am to 2:35 pm.
- Spartanburg classes meet at the Church at The Mill on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with classes scheduled between 8:00 am and 2:35 pm.
Teachers share content and instruction during co-op classes and provide assignments, assessments, and grades for the class. Students should work on assignments at home on the other days of the week under parental supervision. Student attendance to all classes is important because high school classes meet only 2 times per week. Read more at the Grading Policy, Absences, and Class Expectations page.
UHC offers courses designed to provide a strong academic experience. Most courses are full year and earn one full high school credit; however, several semester half credit courses are also available.
An Honors option is available for most courses. Both College Prep and Honors students meet together for instruction; however, students enrolled in Honors courses have additional requirements for the course. Those can be viewed by clicking on the Honors link within the course description.
Complete information about courses can be found in the course descriptions below. This information includes tuition and fees, curriculum that the parent must provide, prerequisites, and course credit. Please also reference the High School Grade Level and Prerequisites Chart when determining the appropriate courses for your student.
UHC uses Jupiter Ed, an online learning management system, for assignments, grading, report cards, and communication between teachers, students, and parents. Parents and students are expected to log in daily on weekdays to check for messages and updates to assignments.
UHC offers many additional opportunities for high school students to engage and build community. These activities include yearbook, Senior Beta Club (GVL), student government, socials, field trips, dances, senior graduation, and more.
Our Dual Enrollment Partnerships with North Greenville University and Bob Jones University provide opportunities for students to earn college credit while also meeting high school graduation requirements.
For potential college athletes, UHC courses are NCAA-approved.
Career and Trade Connections is a program designed to equip high school students with essential skills for success in the workplace while fostering personal growth and Christian character.
UHC has a Learning Differences program to serve students in high school who may require accommodations. Please read through our Learning Differences information to see what assistance may be available for your student.
As a homeschool co-op, UHC partners with parents in the instructional process. Please carefully read the expectations outlined on the Grading Policy, Absences, and Class Expectations page.
While parents are not required to be on campus daily, parents are required to serve as Parent Assistants throughout the school year. Please visit the Parent Assistant page for more information.
Parents enrolling a student in UHC high school for the first time are required to attend a seminar called Navigating the High School Maze. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the high school program. An optional individual consultation is also available at this seminar to provide personalized input for planning.
UHC hosts a graduation ceremony each spring. Students who have attended UHC for at least one full year in high school are eligible to participate in the ceremony. Visit our UHC Senior Graduation page for complete details.
If your student meets the UHC qualifications to participate in the graduation ceremony but is not currently a UHC student as a senior, you will need to contact the High School Program Director by August 1st to enroll in our graduating class (senior graduation fee applies).
Visit our Enrollment page to learn about our enrollment process.
